The Touken Ranbu, Tenden: Soldier of the Blue Sky subtitles (timed to download) (242KiB) file has been released. Summer, Kiden and Reimei are also close to release.

I am only going to provide subtitle files (in ASS format), as I have no intention of pirating copyrighted content.

Though Winter and Summer are were both timed to a downloaded version of the play. The DVD/Blu-ray timings will hopefully be available soon for Winter are now available!

I haven’t subtitled the main theme or curtain call, as I find songs much more difficult to translate.

DVDs of all the plays are available; I personally buy them through Amazon Japan.

In order to use them, you need a movie player that allows you to add external subtitles, such as VLC.

Other subtitles will be released after release of DVDs. Please note, it can take months to subtitle a play to release quality. Please remember that this is the culmination of months of work (I was working on this in tandem with Summer, hence the fast turnaround). So please don’t share this as your own work, please link to this page instead. (If privately sharing with friends, please retain the titles crediting me at the front and end of the subtitles.)

    Thank you so very much for your hard work! These subs haven been much anticipated by the international Tousute fandom, and we really can’t thank you enough!

    In case you’d also like to have subs available to those who have the physical Blu-ray or DVD for Tenden, that can be done with a simpIe adjustment. I clicked through your file based on the DMM archive download and while they matched up impeccably in the first half, after the intermission, a simple tweak is necessary to match up the subs properly: Starting from line #1416, your subs require a simple shift of 2 seconds forwards. After that, all runs perfectly!

      Thank you for that! So that I can make that tweak, could you please clarify for me whether they are currently 2 seconds early or late? And is it exactly 2 seconds? Thanks again 😀

        The current sub file is 2 seconds early right after the intermission at line #1416, so it requires a shift of 2 seconds forwards to sync the subs if you are watching the Blu-ray/DVD version. I used Aegis Subs to make that adjustment. While the tweak isn’t accurate down to the millisecond, exactly 2 seconds did the trick for me. Hope that helps.

          It does, yes, thank you. I should have said that this so we can provide an alternate download (I’ve been assisting Astroninjagirl). I don’t currently have access to the Blu-ray or DVD myself. So it would be very much appreciated if someone who does could do a quick sanity check that I haven’t shifted it the wrong way, or something equally stupid, before I link it above… Please?

    I’ve started it and you are really good! Please give yourself more credit! You did such an amazing job! I’ve only done subs for small things (fixing a line that was delay ) so I can’t imagine how you did the whole stage! I adore you for it! Thank you again!

    I was originally looking for subs for Reimei (I just got my copy in) but found subs for a stage I’ve been itching to watch (and understand) So first, THANK YOU! The second I found your site I was staring in disbelief because I didn’t think anyone would sub the stages anymore (I adore the setup for stage, but I struggle with watching it raw and understanding the full story)

    And now I see you are working on Reimei? I could cry. No really. I really thought I would find nothing about any possible sub for the movie and yet here your site appears before my very eyes!

    Please take all the time you need! There is no rush! I’m just happy to know it might be possible to watch the 2nd movie with subs! You have made my night! Thank you again for doing this! I am so happy to rewatch this stage with subs! Thank you, thank you! ❤

        I’m so glad! You really did a wonderful job with the subs! I just like to point out I tried to share your site on the Touken Ranbu Discord server (which is very active) and was told because you link to where you can download the videos, they can’t accept your work/site. Which I understand but I wanted to let others know about you and the hard work you put into making the subs! Maybe don’t use actually links? Just a suggestion. ❤
